Jeff and Natalie did some research and found a company that did a Deschutes river run out of Bend, Oregon. Since there were 43 of us, we split into 2 rafting groups and went for it. We were in the afternoon group with Jeff and Natalie, Jerry and Tianne, and they Haymores. Kids 6 and older could go so we had Sydney, Hailey, and Malena who are all within 9 months of each other.
Sydney and Hailey loved it, Malena was slightly traumatized. We had a chance later to ride the front of the boat like a bull and go down a calm rapid. Jason did a backflip off of the boat and most of us swam in the freezing water. Sydney would love to go again. Rafting the Deschutes is one of my most favorite adventures we would do as a youth group growing up. I can't get enough of it.
