Jason and Kate enjoying a nice view of Waimea Canyon
Our early morning Sunday drive paid off. On our previous trips we tried to see the Kalalau Lookout but each time it's been foggy. We started around 6:30am this time and got an amazing view. As we stood there we saw the wall of fog coming our way.
The next day we enjoyed the scenery of the Kilauea lighthouse.
There was some serious downpour on the north side of the island on Monday. The boys were snorkeling at Tunnels Beach during a light sprinkle and we all went back to the car so Tianne and I could get situated to go out. Just as we got to the car the downpour began. People came running to get out of the rain and were completely drenched. Tianne and I decided to wait for dryer and warmer opportunity so we went for a drive. We saw this mountain with all of the waterfalls during the storm and decided to get closer. The boys enjoyed the navigational challenge and we ended up with a gorgeous view. The coolest part about the adventure: the road that we took to get this close came to a dead end. We were enjoying the beautiful view and behind us noticed a gorgeous house with a young dad and his little boy in his lap sitting in the front yard just watching the waterfalls. He gave us a wave and a smile, he looked like he was enjoying the life in paradise.
